Confidential Waste Destruction Services
In a time when identity theft is common, it is more important now than ever, to ensure that the confidential documents held by your
company are disposed of securely and correctly.
Virtually every business generates confidential waste. It could be confidential internal data which could jepodise business by giving competitors privileged information, or even worse, it could be the personal confidential information of your clients and customers. In order to prevent confidential details and privileged
information falling into the wrong hands, it is important for them to be securely destroyed.
In October 1998 the new heightened Data Protection Bill became law with stricter rules on your customers data. This includes not holding data for longer than is necessary, and disposing of data by shredding.
Why Do We Need Confidential Destruction?
Taking simple steps like shredding all documents containing personal information, can cut the risk to you and your business.
All businesses need to be aware of their responsibilities under Data Protection Legislation and in this light, a managed
system to identify and securely store confidential waste on site needs to be implemented. |

Hazardous Waste Producer Licensing
Hazardous waste management is an increasingly important element of the waste disposal package as more waste types are designated hazardous as per the ‘Hazardous Waste Regulations 2005’.
All hazardous waste producers producing over 200kg per annum must register with the ‘Environment Agency’ to allow hazardous waste to be removed from site. Once registered, the ‘Environment Agency’ issue the producer with a reference number that is required for each consignment of waste removed from site.
If an organization has more than one premises that produces hazardous waste, each premises must be registered. Contractors are unable to collect hazardous waste from these premises without the registration number.
TWMS can register your company as a ‘Hazardous Waste Producer’ on your behalf. A simple call to our technical team and your registration is complete. Bespoke disposal routes need to be identified for specific waste types and TWMS has established a full nationwide disposal service for all hazardous waste streams.
Poor Recycling Threat to UK
WEEE industry sources have warned that poor recycling practices of WEEE materials currently taking place in Germany are in danger of being replicated in the UK.
Although German recycling levels are held up as one of the best in Europe, a recent report in German Capital magazine reported that while “in Austria, recyclers succeed in extracting 91% of the CFCs (chlorofluorocarbons) from old appliances in an environmentally friendly way, and disposing of these substances without any emission to the atmosphere, the rate in Germany is a mere 42%.”
