Waste Recycling Services

Our portfolio for recycling is ever increasing as more businesses are reducing their general waste and increasing their recycling streams due to our sort and segregation program.

With our inclusive site audit system, TWMS will establish the best available solutions for all your on site waste streams. Our experienced account managers will assist you in achieving your companies waste recycling targets by reviewing your current waste disposal systems and supplying a site development plan and separate storage solutions.

This enables you to reduce your disposal costs and increase your recycling profits thus adding to reductions in your carbon footprint.

For small to medium sized businesses, TWMS work with local contractors who can supply different sized storage containers for segregation and other regular collections to suit your requirements.

For larger businesses, TWMS supply compactors, balers, crushers and shredders to electively deal with all your on site requirements. If waste handling machinery is not required, TWMS provide smaller storage containers that are collected more frequently to save site storage space. Mixed recyclables can be taken to local transfer stations for sorting and segregation prior to processing for export.

All wastes are taken to licensed facilities for treatment, segregation or processing. TWMS can arrange the recycling of cardboard, paper, plastics, glass, ceramics, metal scrap, WEEE goods including fridges, tubes and bulbs, batteries, tyres, empty packaging, aerosols & cans, etc.

Recycling & Environmentally Friendly

TWMS aims to reduce reliance on landfill disposal by making use of new technology on recycling waste. Less waste going into landfill sites means avoiding increasing landfill taxes, and also allows a positive contribution to sustaining the environment. In terms of recycling, Britain is still very much the poor relation among its European partners, with countries such as Austria and Belgium recycling more than 50% of their waste.

With new and ongoing legislation, the amount of landfill waste will be reduced and commercial and industrial businesses will be made accountable for all waste produced and disposed of. The European Directives will enforce minimising waste, increasing recycling, and reducing the environmental impact. TWMS is well placed to assist its clients in meeting these ever-growing environmental demands.

EQUIPMENT

Our large range of waste handling equipment can be designed to suit any facility or waste management requirement.

TWMS can supply portable or static equipment, dependant on your operation. They are designed to be user friendly, cost effective and adaptable. New products are being continuously developed and as a result, TWMS and their manufacturers are able to tailor make machines providing the ultimate in waste handling solutions. Benefits for installing on site waste handling solutions include:

Reduction of storage space for large quantities of waste
A more efficient waste handling operation
Increase in recycling value and company profits

Labour Saving Initiatives

At TWMS we understand that the labour costs involved in handling waste often represent a significant, if not the largest component, of a customer’s total waste cost. Our role is to provide our customers with the best value for money waste disposal solutions. Our solutions will not only consider the equipment, transport and disposal costs (or recycling revenues) but will also take account of the costs and impacts on your workforce.

Hazardous Waste Producer Licensing
Hazardous waste management is an increasingly important element of the waste disposal package as more waste types are designated hazardous as per the ‘Hazardous Waste Regulations 2005’.

All hazardous waste producers producing over 200kg per annum must register with the ‘Environment Agency’ to allow hazardous waste to be removed from site. Once registered, the ‘Environment Agency’ issue the producer with a reference number that is required for each consignment of waste removed from site.

If an organization has more than one premises that produces hazardous waste, each premises must be registered. Contractors are unable to collect hazardous waste from these premises without the registration number.

TWMS can register your company as a ‘Hazardous Waste Producer’ on your behalf. A simple call to our technical team and your registration is complete.
Bespoke disposal routes need to be identified for specific waste types and TWMS has established a full nationwide disposal service for all hazardous waste streams.
Poor Recycling Threat to UK
WEEE industry sources have warned that poor recycling practices of WEEE materials currently taking place in Germany are in danger of being replicated in the UK.

Although German recycling levels are held up as one of the best in Europe, a recent report in German Capital magazine reported that while “in Austria, recyclers succeed in extracting 91% of the CFCs (chlorofluorocarbons) from old appliances in an environmentally friendly way, and disposing of these substances without any emission to the atmosphere, the rate in Germany is a
mere 42%.”
